—Hello again proggers—

Spent forever writing a 2D game :sob:. Mara can walk and jump now, the camera follows her, and she can inspect nearby things. Then came hitboxes. Then came placing the actual rooms by hand. Manual placing is hard, apparently that part wasn't going to magically do itself either.

walking was the easy part, standing on anything was a separate negotiation

Cat or dog? walk → jump → inspect

Okay let's get into it~

—Yap—

The story flow has conversations and rhythm sections; now it also has spaces to move around in between them. This round builds the movement baseline, gives the platforms actual collision, and starts laying out the early chapters.

—The Great Suffering—

1 — Mara Can Move

Added walking and jumping for Mara, with a camera that follows her. She can inspect nearby things, and those inspections can show her thoughts between conversations.

2 — Platforms Are Finally Solid

The first movement pass only landed on the floor. Added platform collision so Mara can stand on platforms, bump into their sides, and hit their undersides instead of passing straight through them.

3 — Early Chapters Get Rooms

Added walking spaces and things to inspect in the early chapters, including the apartment and rehearsal spaces. The movement system now has places to be used instead of just existing on its own.

—FAQ (no one asked these but they are here)—

Q: What is a "progger"?
A: A human programmer. You. The one discovering that a floor and a platform require different conversations.

Q: Can Mara stand on platforms now?
A: Yes. Platform tops, sides, and undersides all have collision.

Q: Does inspecting things do anything?
A: Inspections can show Mara's thoughts, adding something to find while walking between conversations.

Q: Are all the later rooms in too?
A: The early chapters got their spaces this round. The later chapters still need the same treatment.

—This is the end*—

*end for now, hitboxes permitting
